AIR TRAVEL DYSOX 
What Is it? How Can It Be Prevented?

Air Travel Dysox is my term to to describe many cases of drastic adverse effects of long flights, including dramatic rises in hepatitis C viral load, elevations of PSA in men with prostate cancer, and worsening of symptoms of multiple sclerosis. In extreme cases, I have seen phlebitis and even an encephalitis-like state that required hospitalization (encephalitis is brain inflammation). Less serious forms of air travel dysox are more common, especially in persons with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, immune disorders, and pulmonary diseases.   

Air travel is often stressful. Delays at the airport caused by security checks and other factors rob much of the joy of air travel of yesteryears. To such stress is often added substantial additional burden imposed by unhealthy conditions in the cabin of the airplane. In biologic terms, this translates to the following components of dysox (dysfunctional oxygen metabolism):

1. Excess acidity;

2. Incremental oxyradical activity

3. Decreased liquidity (viscosity) of bodily fluids; and, as consequences of the above,

4. Diminished oxygen in tissues.

The longer the journey, the greater the stress of these adverse effects. This winter travel brings along an additional burden of being confined amid many people, some of whom may have the flu.

GUIDELINES FOR AIR TRAVEL
I offer the following guidelines for readers's consideration:

1. Castor oil rubs
Legs, abdomen (front, back, sides)

Apply before boarding to avoid questions about the oil. 

2. Water
                                   
Drink at least one large glass every hour except when sleeping.

3. Feather Breathing

Perform as often as possible. 

4. Heel massage
Use right heel to massage the muscles of the left leg, and vice versa, for three to five minutes, every thirty minutes or so when not sleeping (massage right leg with left heel, then left leg with right heel).

5. Sugar
None, in any form, including fruit juices. 

6. Coenzyme Q10
Sublingual lozenges, 150 mg every hour, up to a total of 600 mg.

For the prevention of infection:
1. Turmeric + vitamin C
One-half teaspoon + one gram C with water (6 oz) three
times a day

2. Oregano capsules
Two capsules three times daily, if suffering cold symptoms.
